For years, we have been carrying water for the more than sixty animals in our care to drink because our water was found to be contaminated with "forever chemicals" (known as PFAS) and not safe for consumption.  We waited for answers on how to solve this problem, but answers never came.  The price tag for a water filtration system - more than $5000 - just wasn't in our budget.  Tired of carrying water and willing to take the bull by the horns, our volunteer Karen made dozens of calls trying to get help...and because she wouldn't take no for answer, the Department of Environmental Protection approved us for a system at no cost to us.  We're so grateful to Karen for her hard work and determination...and to the DEP for their support!  No more hauling water!  Hooray!
